MPS Condemns Petrol Bomb Attacks

The Malawi Police Service (MPS) notes with regret the criminal acts of petrol bombing premises and property of prominent persons in Malawi. We have received reports of petrol bombing incidences at the Premises of Human Rights Defenders Coalition Chair Mr. Timothy Mtambo in Lilongwe as well as his home village, the premises of MCP vice president in Blantyre and MCP executive member Mr. Kunkuyu, DPP offices in Lilongwe just to mention but some.

The MPS condemns in strongest terms these acts of violence and assures the victims and Malawians at large that investigators are following up every lead to arrest these crimes. MPS further warns perpetrators of the crimes that the long hand of the law will catch up with them regardless of their political affiliation.

The Police appeals to every Malawian with information that may lead to the arrest of the perpetrators of this crime to come forward as their information may help the police to build up a stronger investigation front.

The MPS assures Malawians that they are conducting intense investigations to arrest the authors of this crime and put this malicious act to a complete stop.
