The Malawi Police Service (MPS) recognises that gender equality is essential for sustainable development and the well-being of all communities and institutions.This Gender policy will significantly contribute to gender equality at the institutional, national, regional and global levels.
The SDP has been developed based on a robust diagnosis of the internal and external challenges or constraints that the Police Service faces as well as opportunities or enabling factors that exists within the remit of the Police Service and those that the wider environment presents to the Police Service in the course of pursuing its mandate.
The Policy is the authoritative guide to tackling sexual harassment in the MPS, complemented by the Gender Equality Act. It has the force of Service Standing Order. Any officer or person found to have sexually harassed another will face disciplinary or criminal action.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Malawians to join the Malawi Police Service as Recruit Constables (Grade N).
