A Police Clearance Certificate is a document issued to clear anyone of criminal record. People may require a Police Clearance Certificate for different purposes such as for employment purposes or when travelling outside the country to facilitate applications for visas or permits or when acquiring a firearm. Fingerprints analysis is the main method used for police clearance purposes. The following are the requirements for police clearance:
- Passport size photo
- Fingerprints collected and certified by officer preferably law enforcement agents or nearest Police
- Copy of passport bio data page
