A scrap Metal Police Clearance Certificate is a document issued to clear anyone who intends to export scrap metals. The exporter must have cleared with Malawi Revenue Authority before seeking a police clearance certificate.
The certificate ( valid upon motor vehicle return to Malawi0 is obtained from MPS INTERPOL offices in Lilongwe, Blantyre and Mzuzu and takes on average 2-3 Hours for the certificate to be used.
The trader undertakes clearance procedures with MRA and presents MRA documents as supporting documents to MPS application. Upon satisfactory technical review of the documents, inspection of the goods against the documents and on payment of the certificate fees, the certificate is issued and approved by MPS
A fee of MK5,000 is payable before issue of the certificate.
