Caution against circulation of false information on social media in relation to cases under investigation

Malawi Police Service (MPS) strongly warns and cautions members of the public against creating and circulating false information on social media pertaining to ongoing investigations of murder cases in the country.

Update on the ongoing force-opening and search exercise of containers confiscated during relocation of refugees.

Malawi Police Service (MPS), in conjunction with independent observers appointed by a court of law to oversee the ongoing exercise of force-opening and search of containers confiscated during the relocation of refugees back to Dzaleka Camp would like to update the nation on the following developments in relation to the exercise.

Road accidents decrease by 16 percent during Christmas in 2022

The Malawi Police Service (MPS) wishes to inform the public that road accidents recorded during this year's Christmas period have decreased by 16 percent when compared to similar accidents recorded in 2021 during the same period.

 

However, an analysis of the data on these accidents shows that the total number of people killed from the accidents in 2020 has increased by 10 percent.
